Actually, writer’s block hasn’t been much of a problem lately … if anything, I’m overwhelmed with ideas and I’ve finished my ‘zine story for this year and just finished La Sagouine, which I will post on the website tomorrow. Not that anyone will probably read it, but I think it’s a good addition to the GA universe. I’m thinking of tackling the first chapter in the novel — I have to do some research first this weekend on New Orleans and the War Between the States, and hammer out my timeline so I place everything correctly. You know, if Paul was born in 1917 and I know Pierre was 21 then and Denis is four years older then he was born in 1892, so how old was Andre when Denis was born, etc., etc., ad nauseum. Then I have a sense of exactly when in the war or Reconstruction process the opening scene takes place. Hey Presto! a first chapter.

I hope Spring raises my spirits. I still can’t get past how down I feel and I’m really not sure why.
